City of Waukesha is Hiring a Recreation Coordinator (Sports Facilities) Near PARK, WI

The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and daily supervision of the WPRF Adult Softball/Kickball Leagues held at Saratoga Complex and Buchner Parks. The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and daily supervision of the WPRF Youth Baseball, Softball, and T-ball Leagues held at WRO. The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for supervision of WPRF Youth Soccer. Additional hours supervising outside rentals at Saratoga, WRO and Mindiola.

Wage: Starting at $17.00
Saratoga Tentative Work Schedule 
May – August (Half an hour before game time; ½ hour after games conclude), end times maybe adjusted
  • Monday: 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Thursday: Buchner Kickball Games, no supervision, observe games on occasion
  • Friday: 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm
  • Sunday: Rainout Games
WRO Tentative Work Schedule
May – July (1 hour before game time; ½ hour after games conclude), end times maybe adjusted
  • Monday: 4:45 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Tuesday: 4:45 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Wednesday: 4:45 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Thursday: 4:45 pm to 9:00 pm
  • Friday: 4:15 pm to 8:30 pm
  • Saturday: 8:15 am to 5:15 pm
Mindiola Tentative Work Schedule
March – May and August - October 
  • Monday – Thursday 5:15 pm – 8:00 pm
  • Saturday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
  • Sunday 9:45 am – 7:15 pm
  • Additional Hours maybe available

  • Coordinates assigned pre-season activities relating to leagues, including assisting with game scheduling and scorekeeper scheduling.
  • Responsible for inventory of supplies needed at Complex.
  • Supervises Complex during all league games, including opening and closing complex, continually evaluating games and staff, promoting a fun, safe environment for all games, enforcing all park and program rules. Periodically observes Kickball games held at Buchner Park.
  • Follows procedures for formal protests and follows through with Sports Coordinator.
  • Ensuring general safety of all participants by responding to emergencies, documenting accidents, and following emergency action plans (EPA) for weather related incidents.
  • Will coordinate with Sports Coordinator and grounds maintenance staff to determine whether games are playable regarding weather/grounds conditions.
  • Assist with schedules and rainout dates.
  • Organizes and distributes awards at end of season.
  • Assists with scheduling of and supervision of Softball City Tournament. (Adult Leagues only)
  • Maintains WPRF Adult softball website including standings and weather updates. Updates WPRF Information line as needed.
  • Maintains files of correspondence, forms, records, reports, and other materials in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Completes end of season report.
  • Performs other tasks as requested or needed.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Experience in and/or knowledge of youth/adult baseball, softball, T-ball, Kickball, and Soccer programming.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff and the public.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate computer software and other office equipment.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
